Steve, You Really Need To Stop Taking My Money....

So the new MacBook Air was announced this afternoon at Macworld 2008.

Do you even have to ask whether or not K is gonna get one?

LOL....dudes, I'm so there......my iBook is getting kinda long in the tooth anyways.

But really Steve, how much of my money will you continue to take from me and Mr/Mrs. K?

You really need to stop with all these nifty products....

(Thank God I have AAPL stock to offset all these costs...looks like ima have a little "chat" with Pops and see if he will sell some shares to hook a brotha up!)

Some first looks......

You know, I'm just not impressed. It's really nothing special. I see no reason to replace my MacBook with this.

This year's MacWorld was such a disappointment.

It's a friggin' sweet machine, for sure... just not for $1,799. It's not an exorbitant price, but far more than what the worth of the machine seems to be... The coolest thing about it is the optional SSD, which is another grand! No thanks, I'll stick with the regular ol' MacBook for now.

The Guy said a Macbook Pro would be a much better choice over the Air. The air lacks things like ethernet ports, DVD burner, Apple remote, etc. With an education discount you can get a Macbook Pro for $1,799.

That may be true Mike...but when you are carry around tons of textbooks every day (including the DSM-IV which is like the thickest book known to man) the Air starts to look REALLY good.

I literally have 15-20 pounds of books with me every time I go to class. You can understand why I am excited to have a tiny, functional computer to take around with me as well

It's so pretty, but it has less capacity than a Macbook right now, so I think you're only paying the price for the shiny pretty thing.
Still, if I could do what I need to do on the slightly slower processor, I'd be all over it.

I love it, it's such a pretty little thing. I'm a sucker for design.

For someone like you it may be useful but for the average user who needs it as his primary comp, a MacBook or MacBook Pro is a smarter choice.

Good looking thing though!
