I was having a chat with Pete the other day about guys who we kinda think are overrated. I have actually had this conversation with a lot of you but just never got around to blogging about it...it has just been here collecting dust, haha. Anyways, I decided to compile a list (in no particular order) of guys who I, for the life of me......cannot understand what the big hub-bub is about. This is not to say that I wouldn't fool around with any of the guys if I had a chance (save for Tom..ugh) but I just really don't get all the swooning...haha! Feel free to add, disagree or rant/rave in general.
Brad Pitt
Justin Timberlake
Tom Cruise
Johnathan Rhys Myers
Leo DiCaprio
Mika (this one is for Pete...i'll co-sign)
Zac Efron
**I really want to find him attractive but I think the reason why I can't is because he reminds me SO MUCH of Peter Pan....and he always scared the shit out of me as a boy** {shivers}
P.S....no shit about me taking 'unflattering' pics of these guys to make my point.....I am doing all recent and neutral looking pics. (aka not a lot of airbrushing)

Agree on every single one, although I liked Leo in Romeo & Juliet. And please... Efron must have been photoshopped.
I still find it hard to name someone I like though.
mika was more attractive when his hair was long like in the photo. now, he has cropped it like the style preferred by john mayer.
Dude, Johnathan Rhys Myers is fuckin' smokin' hot? What are you smoking?!
Justin, have you seen the psycho eyes? We're talking natural born killer here...
Yep! I'm going to agree on these as well. Never saw the big deal about Pitt, I thought Clooney was hotter in the oceans movies than Pitt. Timberlake I find has that sleezy used car salesman look to him, Cruise I think is good looking but always sucked as an actor, Dicaprio is coming into his own now but I used to think he looked like this young lesbian that I worked with, ie girlish! To add to the list, as much as I like Matt Damon, I personally know a lot of guys that are better looking than him, Will Smith is OK looking but until very recently I found almost every movie he is in, he acted like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Not to sound too bitchy and to make you laugh, I honestly have a thing for Ryan Seacrest! Sad I know! Hahaha!
Steven
SEACREST?!?!?!
LOL...to each his own buddy!
Oh... JRM is soooo over-rated it isn't even funny. 90% of his pics he looks like a tweaker or a serial killer...not cute.
And if you watch The Tutors on Showtime you will quickly realize that Henry Cavill is 1000x hotter than him and 1000x times less scary...IMO of course.
Brad Pitt -- I agree insofar as I don't understand why he's so constantly cited as the prototypical "hot man." He's hot, yeah, but he's not nearly the best looking guy around -- he's not even the best looking guy in some of his movies ("Ocean's 11," "Troy," "Snatch"). But again, I do think he's hot -- just not to the degree that he's given credit.
Justin Timberlake -- has got a hot body, sexy moves and a nice smile. His face is kinda plain, his music is mostly boring... Most guys at the movies on a regularly weekend night are hotter... but still, he's does go in the "hot" category himself.
Tom Cruise -- I get it. He was actually the first actor I remember thinking to myself, "THAT is a good-looking man" (after I saw Mission: Impossible -- 'course, at the time I was telling myself I wanted to be like that guy, not with that guy.) And in Risky Business he is pretty much perfect to me -- if I could build a guy, it would pretty much be that. And Steven, Cruise is one of the best actors working today -- he gets no respect (well, except for the multiple Oscar nominations...) He's a little crazy, yes... but talented and damn good-looking, even still.
Jonathan Rhys-Myers -- FUCKING HOT. Watch "The Tudors" or "Match Point," K. He's hot... I really don't know how to defend him, since it's pretty obvious that he's hot.
Leonardo DiCaprio -- HOT. I wasn't big on him when he was younger, but with "Catch Me If You Can," he caught my eye. Heck, I thought he was cute beginning with "The Beach," and now that I know he grew up to be HOT ("The Departed," come on!) I can appreciate the hints of those future looks in his early work. Also, like Meyers and Cruise: GREAT ACTOR.
Mika -- I barely know who that is. He doesn't look hot in that pic.
Zac Efron -- I admit I think he's cute, and definitely appreciate his tight body. But there is something a little off that keeps me from wholeheartedly stamping him with "hot." Though I never saw "Hairspray," I remember seeing a clip that showed his character and his band and the dudes in the band were way cuter...

OK j.r. maybe the word "sucked" is a bit harsh to describe Cruise's acting but honestly I think if you put a bunch of clips from his different movies together, you would not be able to tell the different characters apart, sorry it is just the way I feel. Like I said before I do think he is good looking though.
Steven
I agree on all those...
Im glad that J.R. brought up the whole talent issue because I personally feel that Tom Cruise is THE MOST overrated actor of our generation....bar none.
The man has absolutely NO RANGE as an actor...in every single role he plays Tom Cruise. Thats it! How can you be considered a great actor when you basically play yourself in every role?
What is the last film you saw Tom Cruise in where you thought..."oh geeze.....that was pretty believable."
Why he got nominated for Magnolia I will never know....he was so insufferable (even more so than usual) in that movie I just couldn't believe it.
Paul Giamatti..an actor with range and talent
Adrian Brody..an actor with range and talent
Christian Bale....an actor with range and talent
I could be here all day listing the amount of actors that have more range and talent than Tom Cruise. LOL! no one goes to a Tom Cruise movie to see great acting.....they just go because...well because it is Tom Cruise and they have been 'trained' for the past 2 decades not to miss one of his movies because he is this supposed great actor
Psssssh posh apple sauce....im totally siding with Steven (but I still love you J.R.)
Yeah, I guess I do get Cruise's character from "Born on the Fourth of July" confused with his hitman character from "Collateral" like all the time. Great acting isn't about coming up with a different crazy character each time around, it's about conveying something real in emotion and urgency, and Tom Cruise does it as good as anyone. No one doubts that Montgomery Clift or Henry Fonda are among the greatest actors ever (two of my other all-time favorites), and neither were as wildly different role-to-role as some guys people nowadays like to claim are the best at their craft. I'd put Cruise in their company, albeit with a little influence of DeNiro. Hey, Johnny Depp is great and I love him an all, but his brand of wild charactering isn't the only way to be great.
Oh and K, Paul Giamatti is one of the WORST actors working today. So theatrical and every line-reading and little moment is obvious and completely textbook. I'll give you Bale, and I'll allow Brody, even though I don't feel he's quite there.
Nothing Golden Stays
Can I add someone? What the hell is the big broo-ha-ha over TR Knight? Is it just my circle of friends that obsess?
Just because he's gay does not make him attractive.
It actually makes him kind of annoying...
ok all of them sucks except maybe Brad, I thought he was very sexy in Mr. Black.
And you know not to mess with my Zac Efron or I will open a can of whoop ass!
